Dog Days of Duluth is a public art, fund raising event presented by the Red Clay Theatre and Arts Center. The event is intended to bring together artists, business and social groups, sponsors and citizens to enrich the community of Duluth, as well as to raise funds for the Duluth Historical Society Strickland House Fund.

The event will feature decorated dogs of all shapes and sizes, which will be displayed during the “Dog Days of Summer” in the Duluth town green, along Main Street, and throughout the community, beginning in July, 2008. After “showing off” and attracting interest for several months, the canines will make their final appearance at the popular Duluth Fall Festival, before being auctioned off on behalf of the Duluth Historical Society.

Introduction of the Duluth Dogs will take place in the Spring of 2008, with a dog parade and “unveiling” of the naked forms. Local artists, community and social groups, members of the business and professional community and –of course—dogs are invited to take part.
